IMPORTANT NOTICE CONCERNING YOUR DEBIT CARD
We understand that unforeseen expenses sometimes occur, that mistakes can be made
in checkbook
calculations or that some purchases or withdrawals could be forgotten from being recorded in your running balance. That is why we currently authorize and pay overdrafts, up to a certain limit, for your approved ACH withdrawals, checks written on
your account and everyday debit card transactions.
Due to new banking regulation, we will not be able to authorize and pay overdrafts for
your ATM and everyday debit card transactions as of August 15, 2010, unless you opt-in for the service, which would continue your account handling as you have become accustom to.
You can easily protect your account and avoid being inconvenienced from having ATM and everyday debit card transactions declined by simply opting in.
What does it mean to Opt In?
Due to changes in the Federal Reserve regulations, we are required to obtain your
consent to participate in the Overdraft Privilege Program. By opting In, you are giving
us permission to include you in this service.
What happens if I Opt Out?
Your Overdraft Privilege service currently pays for items (up to a certain limit) that attempt to clear your account when you do not have available funds to cover them. If you opt out
of the service then you are not accepting the program and SeaComm’s standard overdraft services will not apply to your everyday debit card transactions.
What happens if I do nothing?
If you do nothing, your current overdraft services on ATM and everyday debit card transactions will lapse as of August 15, 2010. In order to avoid interruption of service, please download the form, sign it and mail it in to us today. Or visit one of our branches and speak to a Financial Service Representative. We can even help you through our call center by calling 800-764-0566.
